Perks of Friendly Neighbors

As you could probably see in some of my garden pictures, our neighbors also share the gardening bug. I think we actually caught it from them since they've lived here for over 15 years and we just moved in 3 years ago. Anywho, Bob rocks at keeping his garden looking great and it shows from his thriving plants.

We also get the benefits of their raspberry bushes that grow along our fence line. They are delicious! Even David eats them, and for those that know David you know he doesn't eat fruit. It just must be his super refined palette that likes fresh fruit, ha!
I think we'll be trying the grass rows in the coming years
Interesting toppers on the garlic
We get to pick all the berries on our side of the fence, yum!
So many ripe and ready to be picked
We've eaten them fresh and made jam so far

Garden of Weeden

This post is coming a little late, but the gist of it is essentially the following:
-pics taken a month into the garden being planted
-it won't stop raining here
-with rain brings growing plants!
-with rain brings growing weeds ;o(
-when you don't keep up on the weeds they take over!
-I took way too long to weed the garden
-garden looks great now!
-the end.
Excuse the horrible light, I was just trying to get a before shot for comparisons afterwards
Eeek
Procrastination at its finest
Better
Not exactly sure what happened to majority of our onions in this box but definitely not thriving. After doing some googling it may be a disease that basically stunts the growth. We're still able to use them they're just small
Carrots look better
Marigolds close to blooming
Fresh cut lettuce
Tomatoes staked
We use the basket weaving technique since we have quite a few plants

Father's Day Campout

It's becoming a family tradition to spend Father's Day weekend at my mom's house and camp out in their lawn. My mom and her husband have a beautiful home that they recently renovated, huge barn to hang out in, and tons of space outdoors to play around and pitch a tent. Get ready for basically lots of pictures of adorable kiddos.

Seriously, when I got back and looked through my pictures they are only of the children. No intense adult croquet, cornhole or late night bonfire captured on film, but that croquet game is certainly ingrained in my brain. Future family gatherings will most definitely involve a rematch where the official rules have been reviewed prior to.

For now enjoy the sweetness of chubby legs, crazy hair and smiles for days.
