Well, needless to say lots has happened since the last time I've been on here. First, we're no longer yinzers but are back to being our native buckeyes. The end of May David and I moved out of our home first home and headed back to Ohio. David's job was reworking the structure of their business to Houston and we decided we didn't want to go to Texas. We've always envisioned moving back to Ohio where a majority of both our families live, so now was the time.
Moving out of our first home was very bitter sweet. Most couples can probably remember their first home together, and ours was incredibly special. Too many memories, both good and bad, and funny and serious to write down. Our marriage grew stronger in that house, and living in Pennsylvania brought the opportunity to meet some very special people. You all know who you are, and David and I can't thank you enough for taking us in as one of your family, loving and supporting us through some pretty rough times, and sharing in endless laughs and inappropriate jokes.
We hope that the George Compound brings as many memories and great bonfires as it brought us to the new owners. Even the nightmarish winters on the driveway and lane created some of the most lasting memories that now we can look back and have quite a laugh about. We loved our home, our friends and family we made in Pennsylvania, but now we are back in Ohio and have started the next chapter.
The last 2 years my mom and her husband did a large renovation on their home and added a second separate living unit. It's similar to a small apartment and it's perfect for David and me while we're in transition. What we especially love is how the setting is similar to what we had in PA with the woods and wildlife and private. This is temporary as we look for a home, or land where we can build. We love being close to family and not having to drive 3 hours to spend the weekend together, or cram in seeing everyone while we're in town.
While it's only been a couple months since we've been in Ohio, we sure have done a lot. In the coming posts our share the AWESOME garden we've worked on, laying floor at my in-laws, demoing my step-fathers rental unit, Father's Day campout and more. It feels good to be back :o)
